 Not worth it Jul 30, 2010
I was excited to receive this product, my other tips were not suitable for pavement walking. Unfortunately the quality was poor. I have used them less than 2 weeks and the tips have no tread left on them.
I have ordered a new pair, ones that are nordic original in hope that they will last a proper amount of time.

We bought these paw tips to use on our Sportline walking poles. They came with the round tips and there is a washer in the bottom with a hole in it that the carbine tip goes through and wears out the tip real fast The paws have the same thing. I bought twist pins from Walmarts sewing dept. and pulled the pin out and worked the button to the bottom of the tip. First I used a screw driver and then a wood clamp. The end of the clamp is just the right size to go inside the hole. We find the paws make using the poles easier. We walk almost every day and try and walk 10,000 steps. We found the poles at Walmart also. We also bought the round tips and find them better then the tips that came with our poles.
We bought the poles in Nov. and like them so well that we bought them back to Iowa to use this summer.

Quality sub-standard Aug 31, 2008
I ordered a replacement pair of fitness walking tips (Pavement Paws) and have used them several times. The tread was almost completely worn off after first use and is now just a nub - like my year old tips that I was replacing. I emailed to request replacement of the sub-standard quality of the tips I received, but because I was on vacation and did not actually start using the tips 1 week before the 30 days after receipt, I am not able to return for a full refund. I did not expect them to wear away so quickly, certainly not afte only a few (2x) uses - maybe after 6 mos to 1 yr. Perhaps I should have tried to find the original tips made by Leki. I will have to "eat" the cost and order another set.

Compared to the original rubber tips for my walking poles, these tips were far less durable. They fit well, but wore out so quickly. As an estimate, I think these tips lasted only one-fourth of what the original ones did. The quality of the rubber is obviously inferior. Although the price was appealing, I think I may purchase the original tips even if they cost twice as much.

Nordic walking pause Mar 10, 2008
Two problems: 1) they wear out quickly and I have to keep replacing the paws
2) people keep stopping me to ask about the poles! I tell them that Nordic walking burns 20-40% more calories, engages the lats and triceps, relieves stress from the knees etc. etc. I wish everyone would use them so they would leave me alone and get on with my walking.
